SteelPac Adjustable Dumbbells

SteelPac's Story

My name is Joal Ollivier, a mechanical engineer from Saskatoon, SK, Canada.

I set to work designing my own adjustable dumbbell back in 2018 because I didn’t like other ones on the market. I wanted something compact, simple, and tight-fitting that I could keep forever. By early 2020 I succeeded in building my own tough little 55 lb dumbbell. I showed it off to a few friends, but I had no real ambitions of selling it.

A few months later, along comes a global pandemic. Friends asked if I could make them a pair of dumbbells, so I did. On a lark, I posted an ad, and it happened to get a lot of attention. I even got an interview with the local news! I sold a few batches over the next couple of years, working slowly and carefully to fix every problem that cropped up and improve the design. The current design of the SteelPac dumbbell is something I’m very proud of.

SteelPac dumbbells are made in Canada. Parts are laser-cut from 1/4″ thick solid steel plate here in Saskatoon, zinc-plated in Winnipeg, and assembled by me in my garage Saskatoon. The 3D-printed plastic parts are top-quality polycarbonate, thoroughly tested for lifetime durability.

Buy a pair! I guarantee you’ll love them!
